Brazilian government runs campaign to stop youngsters from sexual relations before marriage

Brazil is the largest country in Latin America in terms of its population. The Brazilian government has initiated a campaign to stop the young generation from making sexual relations before getting married. The government is facing a lot of criticism over this campaign. Jair Bolsonaro, the president of Brazil, advised initiating th9is campaign.

The government is trying to make the young population understand to stay away from sexual relations before getting married through this campaign. The Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights of Brazil launched the campaign on the advice of President Bolsonaro. It is a unique campaign that stops youngsters from sexual relations before marriage.

The slogan of the campaign is ‘Save Sex for Marriage’. The campaign is running in Brazil under this slogan. Several seminars have been organized to make young people aware of the slogan. The government is also using social media for extending the reach of the campaign. The main aim of the campaign is to reach the youngster having age between 13 and 19 years.

The campaign calls the youngsters to stay away from sexual relations during this age range. Brazil is listed among the countries where young girls get pregnant at a huge rate. According to a report released by the United Nations, 80 out of 1000 teenage girls got pregnant in Brazil in 1990. The report said that the rate reduced somehow after 2000.

The report revealed that 44000 teenagers got pregnant in Brazil in 2018. In 2017, 64 out of 1000 teenage girls got pregnant. In 2017, 44 out of 1000 teenage girls were getting pregnant. The rate of pregnancy among teenage girls was the highest in 2017 in Brazil. The campaign managers are focusing on letting teenagers know about the health complexities associated with having sex at a teenage without getting married. The campaign moderators said that people could stay safe from HIV and other such diseases by staying away from sexual relations.
