Paramedic Field Chief of CFD robbed on duty during Thanksgiving Day parade
The police officers were dispatched after receiving a report of a Paramedic Field Chief of the Chicago Fire Department robbed at State Street and Washington Street. The female officer was standing by for EMS coverage at the Thanksgiving Day parade of Chicago. A robber came to her and asked for some directions.
The CPD received the report of a strong-arm robbery at State Street and Washington Street on Thursday at 7:50 am. The female officer was robbed in her SUV issued by the CFD. An offender came to her and asked for directions. He entered into the SUV while she was guiding him for directions. The male offender robbed her purse and other personal items from the SUV. According to the initial report, the offender fled towards the CTA Red Line.
The police officials released the details of the offender. They said that the offender was a male/black with a height of 5-feet 2-inches to 5-feet 5-inches. He was also wearing a white puffy jacket and green pants. According to the police, the female Paramedic Field Chief was standing by for EMS coverage when she was robbed in the Chicago Fire Department Ford SUV.
Another robbery occurred at State Street and Adams Street in which three male/black offenders robbed a victim. The offenders were in their late teens. One of the offenders was wearing a red jacket and one had dreadlocks. State Street and Adams Street is located three miles south of State Street and Washington Street.
Chicago’s Thanksgiving Day parade starts at Ida B. Well Drive/Congress Parkway and it ends near Macy’s on State Street. The female chief lost her purse and other personal items in the robbery. The offender fled in an unknown direction towards the CTA Red Line. The CPD officials and investigators have started the investigation of the robbery. Another person was robbed a few miles away by three male/black offenders.
