Peoria County Board has new Member
Betty Duncan will be appointed Peoria County Board Member for District 3. Her appointment will be at the May 14, 2020, Peoria County Board Meeting. For 35 years, Ms Duncan worked for Caterpillar. She retired in 2001 as a Customer Support Analyst. At that position, she provided technical support worldwide.
She also worked in multiple positions at the Central Illinois Agency on Aging, including as the Brookdale Foundation Coordinator for the support program and Relatives As Parents Program. She transferred from Illinois Central College. In 2015, she went to Bradley University. She majored in Art History and minored in Religious Studies.
She remains an active member of Cornerstone Gospel Church. At the Church, she served as a Deacon and the Sunday School Superintendent, all the while supporting the Ageless and the Nursing Home Ministries.
“We welcome Betty Duncan to the Peoria County Board,” says Peoria County Board Chairman Andrew A. Rand. “Ms Duncan’s community service and lifetime of experience in Peoria will be an asset to her District 3 residents.”
She was born and raised in Peoria. She has four sons and a daughter. She is also a grandmother of six grandchildren and has been a foster parent to 19 children. After the resignation of Barry John Robinson, a vacancy was created in District 3. Ms Duncan will fulfil the remainder of Robinson’s term, which will expire in December 2020.
