Peoria County to host Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event
The Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event will be hosted by Peoria County on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019. The event will take place at Expo Gardens from 8 am to 3 pm. The interested people are advised to get an appointment by visiting www.peoriacounty.org/recycle. You can reserve a timeslot for your entry into the event for the disposal of your household waste.
The last date for the registration is Oct. 11. The registration will be closed at 2:00 pm on Oct. 11. Some wastes cannot be disposed of in normal trash and people find it difficult to dispose of them. The event is organized to collect such waste from the people living in the Peoria community. Several items will be collected at the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event including oil-based paints and aerosol paints, paint thinners, solvents, lawn chemicals, insecticides, and herbicides.
Hobby paints and chemicals, Mercury including thermometer, pool chemicals, used motor oil, antifreeze, Oil gasoline, Fluorescent lamp bulbs, and household batteries will also be collected in the event. The consumers can also bring unwanted medications, cleaning products, and acids and corrosives to Expo Gardens. The items that are not mentioned here cannot be taken to the event.
The residents, who have some other times and they want to dispose of them, need to visit www.peoriacounty.org/recycle for finding an alternative method. The management of the event asked the residents to bring the items in their original containers. The residents are also requested to bring the items in a securely sealed or capped form. The content should be labeled on the container.
The event is organized for the disposal of hazardous household products in a safe way. You need to get registered for booking a timeslot for your visit to the event.
