Ballot for JJC Board of Trustees have six candidates
JJC Board of Trustees have three seats to fill. This spring, election will take place to decide who will fill those vacant seats. This spring, Joliet Junior College District 525 will choose among six candidates to fill those seats. On April 6, Tuesday, the consolidated election will take place. The candidates for the six-year terms on the board are:
- Camielle Holcombe, Romeoville
- Karla Franchini-Manzo, Channahon
- Michelle Lee, Shorewood
- Drew D. Duzinskas, Joliet
- James A. Budzinski, Mokena
The following candidate is seeking a six-year unexpired term (four years remaining):
- Maureen Flanagan Broderick, New Lenox
Seven-member Board of Trustees govern JJC. The members are elected from within the seven-county college district for at-large, staggered, six-year terms. A student representative is appointed annually. However, the representative is a non-voting member of the board. The current board of trustees members are:
- Chair Bob Wunderlich
- Vice Chair Maureen Broderick
- Secretary John (Jake) Mahalik
- Nancy Garcia Guillen
- Alicia Morales
- Dan O’Connell
- Betty Washington
- and Student Trustee Ian Wilkinson
Broderick is seeking reelection. Chairman Wunderlich served 44 years on the board, but isn’t seeking another term.
