The train was halted after the incident. Magliari said at about 1 p.m. that the train will be on its way soon. The strike was proven to be a fatal one.
BNSF Railway Line of Metra is also facing serious issues due to this incident. The trains of BNSF Railway Line are facing extensive delays. The transit agency is giving the service alerts to the travelers. The trains are moving at a slower speed in the area as the single track is open for the trains. Metra said, “Some trains have gone out of the sequence due to the halt of Amtrak Train on the track”. The slow speed has also damaged the sequence of the trains as only a single track is open.
Metra said, “The riders are advised to listen to the announcements on the stations properly”. It added, “We are giving the updates to the riders on regular occasions”. The medical examiner’s office has not released the details about the cause of death of the victim. The trains are expected to come on course sooner rather than later, according to Magliari.
