Memorial Service held for One-year Death anniversary of Chicago Police Commander

One-year ago, Commander Paul Bauer was killed in line of duty while chasing a suspect. Family, friends and fellow officers are gathering in memorial service for remembering and honoring him and to mark his death anniversary. He was killed on 13 Feb, 2018.

On Wednesday afternoon the police chaplain will lead the services at Thomas Center in honor of Commander Paul Bauer.

53-year-old Paul Bauer got a call on radio when he was walking to the City Hall that a man was running from other officers. When he spotted that man, he chased him down the staircase. During struggling the man shot him six times.

45-year-old Shomari Legghette, shot commander Paul Bauer during the chasing. He was charged with First Degree Murder and is waiting for trial after pleading not guilty.
