A man gets the sentence of 30 years in Prison in sexual assault case
A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting his girlfriend in West Chicago. The man broke into the house of his girlfriend and sexually assaulted her. The state’s attorney’s office of DuPage County stated that Henry Morales, 31-year-old, was sentenced by Judge Robert Miller.
Morales was pleaded guilty to a count of aggravated sexual assault. The prosecutors proved in the court that Morales broke into the home of his girlfriend on March 22, 2016. He sexually assaulted her at knifepoint and got arrested after half an hour. He was initially charged with the criminal charges of sexual assault, armed robbery, and home invasion. The court ordered the bond of $1 million in his case.
Robert Berlin, State’s Attorney, said that Morales admitted this morning that he entered into the home of his girlfriend at the midnight. Berlin added, “Morales broke into the home of his girlfriend when she was sleeping and he sexually assaulted her.” Berlin also said, “His admission of guilt does nothing to restore the feeling of safety and security that a home provides”.
Morales will be eligible for parole after serving 85% of his 30-year sentence in the jail. He will also be registered as a sex offender for life. The prosecutor said, “he must register as a sex offender for life”. The guilt of the offender does not restore the home as a safe and secure place. The victim of Morales suffered a lot due to his crime.
Morales was captured by the police after half an hour of his crime on March 22, 2016. He pleaded guilty in the court on Monday and he was sentenced 30 years in prison by Judge Robert Miller. He will serve 85% of his sentence before getting eligible for parole. He was sentenced on the base of an aggravated sexual assault charge.
